Commonly used methods of brooding in the house can be divided into two methods: plane rearing and battery cage rearing.
1.Flat rearing
According to the different ground forms, it can be divided into the following types:
(1) Litter floor.
After cleaning and sterilizing the ground, lay the bedding material such as chopped straw, shavings, wood bran, bagasse, etc. The litter is required to be clean, dry, non-mold and non-caking. Litter thickness 3-4 cm. The litter floor is caked or wet and should be replaced in time. The use of litter ground brooding is the most common brooding method at present. Its advantages are simple equipment and less investment.
The disadvantage is that the bedding needs to be changed frequently, which is expensive and labor-intensive, and the chicks are susceptible to coccidiosis and other diseases.
(2) After the brooding room is cleaned and disinfected on the ground with thick litter.
Sprinkle 0.5-1 kg of lime per square meter on the ground, and then put on clean and dry litter, the thickness of which is about 5-6 cm or more, and start raising chickens , and then regularly add bedding material until the thickness of the bedding material reaches 15-20 cm.

When the litter is partially wet, it will be replaced locally, and the litter will not be removed at one time until the group is transferred. Advantages of thick litter: Thick litter produces heat due to fermentation, and the litter temperature is uniform, which is conducive to the dispersed activities of chickens, flipping the litter, increasing the activity of chicks, promoting their growth and reducing the occurrence of pecking. Disadvantages: After the chickens are transferred to the flock, it takes a lot of work to remove the litter, and the labor intensity is high.
(3) Breeding on the net or on the grid .
The chickens are raised on the metal net, wooden strip or bamboo slats at a height of 60 cm above the ground, which is called feeding on the net or on the grid. Since chickens raised online do not come into contact with feces, it prevents and reduces the chance of infection by feces, saves litter and labor, and is conducive to mechanized manure removal. However, it requires a certain investment and is suitable for areas with hot and humid climates.
2.Stereoscopic feeding, also called chicken cage raising.

brooding cage
Intensive industrialized laying hen industry or broiler industry production is widely used in cage breeding. The brooding equipment produced by Retech is made of hot-dip galvanized material and has a service life of up to 20 years. Reasonable feed regulator design, chickens will not run away and get stuck. Provide small water cups, feed troughs and plastic mats for day-old chickens.
The advantages are: the utilization rate of the ground can be improved, it is beneficial to mechanized or automated production, the cost of litter is saved, the feed conversion rate is high, the chickens grow neatly, and the survival rate is high.
Disadvantages: There are requirements for equipment investment in the early stage, high process requirements, full-price nutrition, high management technology, and careful immunization procedures.
