Adding a certain amount of sodium bicarbonate to the feed to increase the concentration of carbonic acid in the blood is also beneficial to the improvement of eggshell quality. It is necessary to remove chicken manure in time, strengthen the ventilation of the chicken house, and reduce the content of harmful gases such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide in the house.

2.The mineral elements should be appropriate.

The absorption of calcium and phosphorus is always synergistic, and the appropriate phosphorus content can promote the absorption of calcium. In the brooding and growing period, when the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is (1.5~2):1, the absorption and utilization rate of calcium and phosphorus is the highest. Therefore, inorganic phosphate or animal phosphate must be supplemented to ensure the supply of phosphorus. In addition to phosphorus, the content of iron, magnesium, zinc, manganese, etc. in the feed will affect the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, thereby affecting the quality of eggshells. When the content of these mineral elements is high in the body, they will form insoluble phosphate with phosphate ions and affect the absorption of calcium. Therefore, when supplementing trace elements, the amount should not be too large, and the hardness of drinking water should not be too high, and the calcium supplement feed should not contain more other mineral elements.

3.Eliminate older laying hens in time.

Under normal feeding conditions, the uterine glands of young hens can secrete calcium carbonate normally. However, when you get old, the uterine glands will deposit a certain amount of fat due to the deposition of body fat, which will affect the secretion function of the glands and make the eggshell thinner and brittle. At the same time, when the individual eggs in the late stage of laying are larger, the surface area of the eggs will increase, which will also make the supply of calcium slightly insufficient, and the egg shells will be relatively thin and brittle. Older laying hens should be eliminated in time.

4.Timely prevention and treatment of diseases.

Under normal feeding conditions, the increase in soft-shelled eggs and preserved preserved eggs is often a sign of disease. Colibacillosis, Newcastle disease, decreased egg production syndrome, infectious laryngotracheitis, etc. can cause uterine gland secretion disorders, which affect the quality of eggshells.
