Project Highlights
1.Project Background: Higher Equipment Requirements for Chick Breeding in Cameroon
In chick breeding in Cameroon, the most important thing is not “buying equipment,” but “buying a system truly suitable for the local environment.” Our local chick breeding program faces several very real challenges:
- High temperatures and fluctuating humidity place higher demands on chick insulation and ventilation control;
- Rising labor costs make traditional floor-raising methods less efficient for large-scale chick breeding;
- Chicks are extremely sensitive to hygiene, density, and environmental stability; even slight negligence can affect survival rates and uniformity;
- Power supply and operational stability are also crucial factors to consider when selecting equipment.
Based on our long-term experience in chick breeding in Cameroon, we understand that for a chick breeding project to achieve true large-scale, standardized, and sustainable operation, it must rely on a highly automated, structurally sound, and easy-to-maintain cage-raising system.
2.Project Installation and Commissioning Status
After the equipment arrived on site, Retech provided detailed installation guidance and technical support. The installation process went smoothly overall, and the equipment layout conformed to the actual production process of the brooder farm. The on-site team completed system assembly, commissioning, and operational testing in a short period of time.
During commissioning, we focused on the following aspects:
- Cage structure stability;
- Automatic feeding system uniformity and smoothness;
- Automatic drinking system normal operation;
- Coordination of fans, lighting, and temperature control components;
- Ease of equipment operation for daily inspection and cleaning maintenance.
After multiple rounds of testing, the system is operating well, and all functions meet expected standards. The project has now officially entered the operational phase.
3.Operational Results: Stable, Efficient, and Easy to Manage
Since the equipment was put into operation, our most direct feeling is that brooding management has become more standardized, controllable, and efficient.
Our choice of Retech’s fully automated brooding cage system was a pragmatic decision made after considering local experience. This system has proven to be ideally suited to the brooding needs in Cameroon, meeting the operational requirements of our current 25,000 chicks project and laying a solid foundation for future expansion.
