This project utilizes Retech’s fully automated feeding cage system, paired with a manual chicken-catching system. Currently, the equipment installation, commissioning, and on-site delivery have been completed, and the entire system is operating normally, providing the client with a more efficient and stable broiler farming solution.

Indonesia 54,000 broiler chicken project-1

I. Project Overview

Project Location: Indonesia

Breeded Species: Broilers

Project Scale: 54,000 birds

Equipment Type: Retech Fully Automated Feeding Cage System

Supporting Systems: Automatic Feeding, Automatic Watering, Automatic Manure Removal, Manual Chicken Handling System

Project Status: Installed and operating normally

Application Mode: Large-scale broiler cage farming

This project, based on the client’s chicken house structure and broiler farming needs, configured automated cage farming equipment suitable for large-scale production. The Retech fully automated feeding cage enables layered and zoned management of broilers, while simultaneously working with the manual chicken handling system to complete the slaughtering process. This improves daily feeding efficiency while considering project investment and actual operational needs.

II. Client’s Farming Needs

Indonesia has a typical tropical climate, with some areas experiencing high temperatures and humidity. Broiler farming is easily affected by factors such as ventilation, cooling, hygiene management, and the efficiency of manual operations.

The client is building a 54,000-broiler project and primarily aims to address the following issues:
Increasing the stocking capacity within limited chicken house area;
Reducing manual feeding and water management;
Improving chicken manure management and house hygiene;
Facilitating large-scale zoned management of broilers;
Minimizing the impact of manual operations on farming efficiency;
Automating the farming process while controlling investment costs;
Establishing a modern broiler farming model suitable for local operating conditions.

To meet the client’s needs, Retech provided fully automated feeding cage equipment and configured a manual chicken-catching system based on the characteristics of the slaughtering process.

Manual Chicken Handling System: Less Labor and Less Stress in the Process of Handling Chickens

The short breeding cycle and concentrated slaughtering of broilers mean that the chicken handling process directly impacts farming efficiency. This project utilizes a manual chicken handling system, which, while not fully automated, allows workers to handle chickens more efficiently and safely through a well-designed cage end layout and chicken handling channel.

Specific operations include: Workers open cage doors in rows and layers to remove broilers;
The chickens are then gathered in the handling channel or chute to the slaughtering area;
The chickens are placed in transfer baskets and loaded onto trucks for transport;
Stress and abrasions caused by chasing and handling on the ground are reduced;
Shortening slaughtering time and reducing labor intensity and broiler injury rates.

For a farm with 54,000 broilers, this combination of “fully automated feeding + manual chicken handling assistance” balances automated daily management with flexible slaughtering operations, aligning with the realities of Indonesian farming.

Manual Chicken Handling System

Installation Complete: From Cages to Chicken Handling System

During the project installation, Retech engineers worked closely with the local team to complete the entire process, from site survey and foundation verification to cage assembly, water and feed line installation, manure removal belt debugging, environmental control system integration, and manual chicken handling system installation.

Key installation points included: Cage levelness and inter-layer spacing calibration; Automatic feed line uniformity debugging; Water line sealing and water pressure testing; Manure removal belt deviation adjustment; Environmental control sensor calibration; Alarm linkage and power outage emergency testing; Safety checks of the manual chicken handling passage, operating platform, and chicken exit area.

Currently, the project has completed installation and initial integration. The cages are neatly arranged, the automatic feeding, watering, manure removal, and environmental control systems are operating smoothly, and the manual chicken handling system is rationally laid out, ready for chicken production. The Retech team also provided operational training to the client’s personnel, covering daily inspections, equipment maintenance, parameter settings, and simple troubleshooting.
